New Testament Giving

The New Testament speaks of two ways to give. One is to give as a steward of the gifts the Lord has given you (Luke 15-20). Listen for His voice to hear if there is a particular amount He would like you to give. If you do not sense a need to give a particular amount, it is your decision to purpose in your heart what to give (2 Cor. 9.7), not by necessity or reluctantly, but with a cheerful heart knowing you are impacting the lives of troubled hearts through prayer.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Cor. 9.7

It is not our desire that anyone should go into debt in order to give to this ministry. Our hope is that you give out of what you have and not what you don′t have, and that your motivation for giving is your love for God and a desire to reach those in need of prayer. We very much appreciate every financial gift received as we work to strengthen and encourage the Body of Christ.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.  2 Corinthians 8.12
